Now in its 15th year the Victorian Weekend has built up into a successful and highly enjoyable part of the R H Bay calendar. Last year the Weekend went ahead with the R H Bay Branch of the RNLI taking overall responsibility, with the full support of the the R H B Tourism Association. The Weekend was generally regarded as a success on many levels, with over £2,200 being raised for the Lifeboats and an enjoyable, busy, event packed Weekend was enjoyed by visitors and locals alike.
2008 Arrangements
This year agreement has again been reached between the Tourism Association and the RNLI for the Lifeboat Charity to take on overall responsibility for the Victorian Weekend. The RNLI can bring its national and local expertise and experience to bear and tackle the necessary risk assessments, site plans, and other documentation now required for such a large series of events.
Rob Rymer, speaking on behalf of the RHBTA, said "We are delighted that the RNLI have agreed to take on these responsibilities again and the RHBTA remain committed to giving the Victorian Weekend their wholehearted support. We hope that the local community and local businesses will do likewise."
